WILCOX, PA, MARCH 18, 2009 – To help actively encourage conservation and environmental awareness, PCC is launching a “Going Globally Green” initiative. Powder metal itself is an environmentally friendly process. The raw material primarily used by PCC has been recycled. This helps to reduce scrap and supports recycling. In addition to recycling metals, an internal recycling and reuse program is in place. Everything from machine and furnace parts to printer cartridges and cardboard boxes are recycled in some way at PCC. According to Frank Beimel, President of PCC, “Most importantly we have a robust continuous improvement program to eliminate waste.” “This program is a value added activity that increases the worth of the powder metal process.”
